Biology HSC study hub
Study modules through mechanisms, evidence and response structure.
High-value modules
Heredity, genetic change, infectious disease and non-infectious disease often reward cause-and-effect explanation. Do not memorise isolated facts; practise explaining mechanisms.
Answer formula
For short answers: define the process, explain the mechanism, use the stimulus if provided, and link to the outcome. For data questions, quote the trend before explaining it.
Common mistakes
- Writing generic immune-system content without answering the specific disease scenario.
- Forgetting controls, reliability, validity and accuracy in practical questions.
- Describing a graph without linking it to biological cause.
Original drill
Practice question
A pathogen spreads rapidly through a community despite high hygiene awareness. Explain two biological factors that could increase transmission and outline one public health response.
